About project
Who are we and why?
Recently one of the most important problems is the providing of the best
understanding of the ecological and social-economical issues in the newly
independent states of the post soviet space to define the priorities in
structures and ecologization of education. In order to realize the scale
of the past and present ecological damage and not to allow the same mistakes
in the future each number of the society should be taught the responsible
attitude towards the environment. To achieve this, it is necessary to
increase the knowledge and make easier maintain, protect and restore the
environment in accordance of the deeper scientific understanding level,
there is a need to create and develop (work up) the programs on ecological
education, and also to increase in Caucasus.
For this purpose the accessible, trust-worthy and timely elucidation of
the whole population is necessary.
Nowadays, when the danger of degradation of environment is turning out
to the problem number one for a mankind, the meaning of mass media and
modern informational technologies has been increasing.
The result of the trust-worthy informing on existing ecological problems
should be expressed by creation (establishment) of the universal regional
system of propaganda and education. We believe that us this case the wide
use of the computer technique, a wide-spread development of internet-service
us Azerbaijan and Georgia give opportunity to use effectively the advantages
of internet to distribute the teaching and informational materials (aids)
in this sphere in order to solve the actual problems of ecological education
and informing of population.
Taking into account the above-mentioned, we, the Social-Ecological Center
"EcoSphere" (Azerbaijan) and Association
of Environmental Protection of Georgia "The
Earth in XXI century" by the financial support of ISAR-Azerbaijan
and Gorizonti-Georgia, are implementing the Ecological Program "Web"
(increase of ecological possession of information of population of the
Caucasus region with the use of informational technologies.)
| While implementing the project
and establishing "Web" program we want more people to "fall
into web"- net of the truth-worthy informational ecological comprehension.
If you compare it with the actual web, you will associatively imply
that it is not easy to pull through the web. As much as you getting
information as more you need the truth-worthy information and qualitative
knowledge. The time of the simple common discussions concerning the
global ecological problems had passed. Everyone should actually know
the ecology of "his/her house" and should transfer his/her
knowledge to those around one. The "Web" will show you the
interrelations within the nature. It will demonstrate you how everything
is joined by means of its thin but strong thread. While touching one
or several thread, you can easily break the delicate stable balance
in the environment, biosphere. |
In the course of the project implementation on establishing
the "Web" program the following are planned:
- To carry out the preliminary monitoring researches in Azerbaijan
and Georgia concerning problems of antropogene contamination during
the whole period of the work over the project alongside with the attraction
and teaching of students the field ecological research works-taking
the water samples, metering of radioactive background, air pollution
analysis. The work experience exchange concerning the monitoring of
the leading experts in this sphere from our two organizations is also
fore seemed.
- To consult and involve the independent experts from Georgia and Azerbaijan
into the process of collecting and processing of data (the experts will
be invited by the following problems: air pollution, pollution of natural
water reservoirs, soil contamination, radioactive contamination and
natural radioactive background, sickness rate of population in the region,
biological variety)
- To collect and process the statistic data concerning the ecology
of the region, informational-educational information, reports of different
scientists of the both countries, information about the activity of
the ecological NGO of the region
- To create the Joint Regional site in Internet on the problems of
ecology of the Caucasus region with the statistic data and teaching
programs for the students and all comers of both countries
- To carry out the teaching training for the students and senior pupils,
representatives of ecological NGO with the purpose of teaching how to
use the site, remote teaching and monitoring research works
- To carry out the remote teaching, when participants are able to obtain
the necessary knowledge and notions in the sphere of ecological education
independently and meet the ecological problems of the Caucasus region
countries.
The Joint Regional Ecological Portal
can become one of the sources of the ecological information within everyone's
reach, information on environment in the locality, country, region where
a man lives.
One can taught for a long time & basically the main principles of
ecology, demonstrate the examples of different ecological disasters in
the world. But mostly people are effected when they are telling &
demonstrating examples connected the threat of illness or destruction
turns from the form of the abstract possibility into the rather tangible
one. In the most cases for the ordinary citizen it is difficult or requires
the certain time to receive the complete, exhaustive & trust-worthy
information on ecology of his country. This is due to the fact that recently
it is impossible to receive all this information from one source. The
Joint Regional Site on ecological problems of the Caucasus region in Internet
created in the course of the projects implementation, will assist in solving
of these problems.
